Eligibility: Candidates must pass the July admission exam and obtain a state-funded place with a scholarship (in the RO/EU student category) offered by the Ministry of Education.

Application form 2026

Submission:
The EUTOPIA PhD co-tutelle grant application form must be submitted via the HOME university according to the link: https://doctorat.ubbcluj.ro/ro/eutopia-phd-cotutelle-program/.

The application period will run from 30th March until 11th May, with 11th May representing the final deadline for submission. During this interval, applicants will be able to register and submit their applications through our platform.

Following the submission deadline, the evaluation process will take place between 11th May and 29th May. The final results of the selection process will be announced on 2nd June.

To apply for Eutopia cotutelle programm 2026 at UBB (as home institution), the application files must be submited through Application form 2026:

  1. Title of the email: Eutopia cotutelle 2026 application – Name Surname of the student
  2. In the attach of the email will be included all the documents bellow:
    • Completed application form
    • Detailed description of the research project
    • Academic CVs of both co-supervisors and CV of the PhD candidate(s)
    • Letter of motivation from the PhD candidate(s) when already identified
    • Letters/emails of support from Head of School/Department/Research Center/Doctoral School/Academic Unit, depending on each university (a support letter from the Head of Department is compulsory at University of Warwick)
    • Letter of support from the Doctoral school/office of the co-host university confirming the eligibility and willingness to host the PhD student. (Starting with 2025)
    • A scanned copy of the PhD candidate’s Master’s degree certificate and academic transcript (or highest degree obtained + Master’s degree underway), when PhD candidates are already identified. Please note that pre-Masters candidates are not accepted at UBB.
